Santa Tecla cruised past Quezaltepeque to open win count in the series. Santa Tecla outrebounded Quezaltepeque 60-33 including a 28-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Venezuelan-Colombian power forward Michael Hinestroza (208-90, college: UALR) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Cuban Lisvan Valdes (196-88) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. Center Brayan Garcia (195-98) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Anthony Brown (196-89, college: Imperial Valley JC) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four Santa Tecla and five Quezaltepeque players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
